SACRED BOTANICALS: remembering the herbal ways of the ancient feminine

Picture

In my own practice, I have found that working with the plants is never only about physical healing. It is about energy, frequency, and spirit. It is about remembering. The more I study herbalism the more I feel drawn to the traditions of those that came before. The goddesses the priestesses and the women who tended the sacred gardens of their time. I realize now that their wisdom was not lost but it was waiting to be remembered and reclaimed.

This book is an offering to that lineage. It is a bridge between past and present, weaving together mythology, history, and practical herbal wisdom. My hope is that as you explore these traditions, you will feel a spark of recognition within yourself. That same whisper of memory that has guided you here. The plants are speaking. The goddesses are still with us. The wisdom of the priestesses is ready to be remembered.

Herbalism, the age-old practice of using plants for medicinal purposes, has woven with the lives of women throughout history. From ancient healers to modern practitioners, women have played pivotal roles in shaping the world of herbal medicine.

I believe it would be safe to say that priestesses were among the first herbalists as well as the first doctors. In ancient cultures, healing, spirituality, and herbal knowledge were deeply connected, and it was often the priestesses who served as keepers of the wisdom. They tended sacred gardens, prepared herbal medicines, performed healing rituals, and acted as intermediaries between the divine and the earthly realms. Their understanding of plants went beyond physical remedies.  They worked with the energetic and spiritual properties of the herbs, using them in ceremonies, anointing oils, and sacred brews period.

⭐️This is a magical book that combines visionary storytelling, practical information about herbs, the history of the ancient divine feminine and priestess cultures.  It will act as a transmission that will activate ancient wisdom in the reader.⭐️

Welcome to this journey as we explore how the goddesses and priestesses of ancient civilization were stewards of herbal practices. This book rose out of a single question. “Is there evidence of herbalism in ancient goddess cultures?” I was excited to learn that the answer to my question was YES!

Across the world, from the temples of Mesopotamia to the sacred Groves of the Celts, from the healing sanctuaries of Egypt to the volcanic lands of Hawaii, women were the keepers of the plant wisdom in ancient times. Rooted in divine connection, their knowledge was not merely medicinal, it was sacred, woven into the spiritual, mythological, and energetic traditions of their cultures.

My purpose in authoring this book is to help people connect with the divine feminine energies that flowed through the goddess cultures, while learning the herbal practices of the ancient world. We are at a pivotal point in our evolution where our wholeness is dependent on balancing the masculine and feminine energies that are in all of us. The dawning of the patriarchy moved the feminine to the background and hid both the feminine energies and the way women approached herbalism as a sacred practice inspired by their connection to the divine. Each goddess and priestess throughout history represents emerging feminine qualities that if embraced will help us become whole.

Travel with five explorers on a Time Machine back in time to ancient civilizations.  We will meet and speak with each of 13 goddesses, tour their gardens, learn their ancient herbal ways, get recipes based on ancient practices and special gifts to take back with us.

Each trip will act as a soul retrieval for the reader as they remember things from their own ancestry.  You will also learn how to integrate what you learned into the modern practice of herbalism.

Five herbalists, three females, including myself and 2 males, made a commitment to travel on The Time Machine. Our purpose was to explore ancient herbal practices from times in the past. We chose to explore the ancient goddess cultures to understand the feminine approach to herbalism. The rising feminine energy is so important at this time in our history, and we wanted to integrate more feminine approaches to our own practices.

It was our hope that we could gain new understandings about how our ancient ancestors first learned that plants held healing medicine, how they worked with the plants and how they made them into remedies. We also wanted to learn about each culture, their sacred practices, the goddesses and priestesses and how we can integrate ancient practices into our own herbal healing practices.

As a group, we chose thirteen cultures we wanted to explore because thirteen is the number of the goddess. Some of us have ancestral ties to these cultures which makes it even more exciting. The Time Machine experience is new to all of us.

Join us on this wild, magical time travel adventure…
